NATURE: “Norway to bring cancer-gene tests to the clinic”

An article about Norway's program for stratified cancer treatment was published in the prestige science journal Nature on February 2nd 2012. It was stated that: “Norway is set to become the first country to incorporate genome sequencing into its national health-care system."

Professor Ola Myklebost from the Institute for Cancer Research at Oslo University Hospital together with James Peach, director of stratified medicine at Cancer Research UK were both interviewed. Mr. Peach pointed out in the article that: “The Norwegians are quite lucky in that they’re planning their initiative later than ours” when he was interviewed about the national program for stratified cancer treatment in Norway.

Massive media attention

Presented in Norway
Both the Norwegian project and the one in UK were presented for Norwegian clinicians, hematologist and industry at Cancer Crosslinks, January 12th 2012. Cancer Crosslinks is a national meeting place in Norway in where the latest trends in oncology research and clinical development are discussed.
